Metal Art Chicken Sculpture

In addition to the supplies provided for the metal art chicken sculpture, designs are available; however, you are more than welcome to use your own design to emboss on your pewter sheet.
The pewter sheet design will be for the front of your metal embossed chicken. You will use basic metal embossing techniques: engraving, low relief, and high relief. After applying these techniques to a pewter sheet for the front of the chicken, you will move on to working with the metal tape.
The metal tape can be embossed, or you can keep it plain. In the examples, the embossed metal tape resembles chicken wire. This chicken wire design is also on the strip to round off the sides of the chicken wood substrate.
The egg accompanying the sculpture can be painted or decoupaged. The egg is a great way to add color to your chicken sculpture. Another place to add color to your metal art chicken sculpture will be the sculpture’s base or the feathers.
If you don’t want to use feathers, you can assemble bead pins for a funkier chicken sculpture. In addition to the wood base, there is also chicken wire for a more authentic look. Add additional color by decorating the chicken wire-wrapped base with paper flowers; you will assemble your flowers from die-cuts. Alternatively, add raffia to resemble a nest at the bottom of the metal art chicken sculpture.
